Top 10 Signs America Is On the Decline

Tattered Flag10. Paris Hilton is more popular than the President.

9. Abortion and pornography are cherished rights, yet homeschooling is a crime.

8. The March Madness brackets receive more news coverage than the President vetoing an anti-torture bill.

7. The economy is held together by bailing wire, duct tape, and the Federal Reserve.

6. Pregnancies among unwed teenagers rise dramatically, but no one minds because they figure we’ll need more people to pay for all the unfunded government entitlement programs.

5. Three words: widespread illiteracy.

4. Citizens spend their “stimulating” $600 tax rebate on their property tax increase.

3. Private virtue means recording American Idol on Tivo to reluctantly drag yourself to church on Easter.

2. Public virtue means wearing a Barack Obama t-shirt at an MTV benefit concert.

And the number one sign America is on the decline is…

1. The current choices for our next President are Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain.

    Hmmm. Sadly good list.

But I think that the one that tops them all off by a leap has yet to be added, and it is this:

Too many “Christians” are too busy watching TBN and preaching and learning about how you can “name it and claim it” and how Jesus is your free ticket to heaven, to care or think about such “negative things”; after all, isn’t it “accentuating the positive” all that matters? Thinking about negative things (i.e., things that make me feel sad) is SO un-Christian!

You know a nation is on the decline when its salt has lost its flavor!

The problem with Christians is not only have we remained in the shaker; we have remained in the shaker so long that we have lost our flavor. Then, when some of us comes out of the shaker, we change nothing. We think that the best thing we can do is vote and sign petitions. Call your Congressman! Write your Senator! They’ll listen!

Um, what has changed? The best we could do was put George W. Bush in office, and the “last was worse than the first.” We cleaned out the house, but when we didn’t replace it with the honor and fear of God, our condition worsened (Matthew 12:43-45).

Virtue and morality among Christians, on the average, is no better than that of unbelievers. And yet this crucial truth is hardly addressed or dealt with. *sigh* Yes, our nation is declining. We should not decline with it.

    ROFLMHO

Those would have all been hillarious if they weren’t all so true to life.
